Some hot news for Microsoft Fans and Developers using the .Net platform. Microsoft is open sourcing .NET framework libraries.

We’ll begin by offering the source code (with source file comments included) for the .NET Base Class Libraries (System, System.IO, System.Collections, System.Configuration, System.Threading, System.Net, System.Security, System.Runtime, System.Text, etc), ASP.NET (System.Web), Windows Forms (System.Windows.Forms), ADO.NET (System.Data), XML (System.Xml), and WPF (System.Windows).  We’ll then be adding more libraries in the months ahead (including WCF, Workflow, and LINQ).  The source code will be released under the Microsoft Reference License (MS-RL).

You’ll be able to download the .NET Framework source libraries via a standalone install (allowing you to use any text editor to browse it locally).  We will also provide integrated debugging support of it within VS 2008.

When you debug a .NET application and hit a breakpoint in your code, you’ll now be able to see a debugger call stack that contains detailed file and line number information for the .NET Framework classes and methods in your application:

I took my bike out this Sunday afternoon for a short drive. I just felt like going for a long drive. It was Sunday afternoon and I could feel the cool air against my face. Was thinking what to do. So went straight to the petrol bunk got the bike ready for the drive and hit ECR.

The roads were virtually empty. I was extra careful and never went too fast unnecessarily.

On one stretch , I decided to step up the gas and put the bike on full throttle.

It was an awesome feeling . The bike wont go past 101 kmph or at least I cant control it. I saw some vehicle coming in the opposite direction and I had to stop my adventure to avoid any kind of risk. Slowed down and coasted to Mahabs. Spent some time there and headed back home.

It was so crowded during the return journey. No different than driving inside the city. I was shocked when I came to a screeching halt after I saw a pile of dust in front ( It was some vehicle flying )

A major accident due to reckless driving. Nearly 3 cars and a van were seen in a bad shape.

I have been hearing a lot about Facebook these days. It has become really popular amongst the developer community after Facebook launched its API for public use. I was interested to explore FB after Ram @ Photon worked on  a Facebook App project.

I have still not got hands dirty on the Facebook API. Don’t find the time so far. But I managed to browse the site.

Now why is Facebook better then Orkut.

1.Great and Simple UI

The nice shades of blue mixed with other colors make it really pleasing for the user.

2.More Real Users

Facebook comes with an User Verification feature which lets you verify yourself by supplying your phone no. Orkut is full of spammers and idiots these days.

3.Plenty of features

Since Facebook is was initially targeted at the Student and Professional Community its comes with a lot of features. Groups, Events, Photos , Notes

4.Mark Zuckerberg – 23yr Old Founder

Really admire this guy for making a site real big in no time. FB was founded in just Aug 2005.Started the site while still in college ( Some what similar to my story. Actually I started mine in March and still trying to figure out what I want to do with the website).
This guy has redefined the meaning of Social Networking at least in the Business Context.

5. Developer API

In August 2006, It was the first major social network to give access to its API. Its limited to 100,000 requests per day though.

6. Its built on PHP

I am a PHP fan and Facebook is a brilliant example of what you can do with PHP and prove that its nothing inferior to ASP.Net (Orkut)

I got this cute doll as a gift from one of our clients. It feels so good when clients are this sweet, You feel you have to deliver and perform better than before.

Gmail will face some serious competition now as Yahoo has almost acquired Satish Dharmaraj’s Zimbra which has become an industry leader in web mail (at least for the enterprises)

Got this irritating message when I was working with a simple PHP /MySQL app I was trying out

Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

I just changed the database username for the  application and the error went missing

I hardly find time to watch tv these days. I was watching Aek Chaabi Hai Pados Mein on Star which is a nice family entertainer. She plays the Female lead in the serial. I have seen her on so many other ads these days. But didn’t know her name. There’s not much I could find about this future Bollywood heroine

I was searching for a book and landed on amazon.com.

I already have an account there. So I signed in and tried to order the book.

The book it self is only $15 but the shipping charges is $12.

Looks like I will have to wait for the book to hit indian stores , may be I can get in in 2020.
